A Kalis engineer and a client going through drawings at a table

What we do

Design

Fire protection design to NFPA and SBC 801, taken through Civil Defense approval.

A Kalis engineer going through drawings with a client on a construction site

Design

Approved from the first drawing

What we design
Detection and alarm, sprinkler and fire water networks, fire pumps, special hazard suppression and oxygen reduction, from the hazard and the building’s use.
Approval
Designed to Civil Defense requirements from the first drawing. Our engineer signs a pre-inspection record before the authority arrives.
What you receive
A submittal set per system: drawings, hydraulic calculations and the cause-and-effect matrix, then the approved material list and the Civil Defense approval file.
Standards
NFPA 13 · 14 · 20 · 72 · 2001 · SBC 801

From survey to approval

No step starts before the previous record is signed. An existing building? The retrofit route starts with a survey and a gap list to current code.

  1. 1 Survey Walk the building, list its hazards and every system already installed.
  2. 2 Design To NFPA and SBC 801, with hydraulic calculations and the cause-and-effect matrix.
  3. 3 Submit A submittal set per system, owned by our Engineering Manager, for the consultant’s review.
  4. 4 Approve A pre-inspection record signed by our engineer, then the Civil Defense approval file.
